The Delaware County Sports Heritage Foundation sponsors the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship Program. The program was established to assist and encourage the continued education of students who demonstrate a desire to attend a post-secondary school.

Eligibility 

1. Graduate from one of the eight public high schools in Delaware County for the year the scholarships are issued by the Hall of Fame Board. For the Schrecongost Family Scholarship, the applicant must also have successfully completed their Senior season of Golf in good standing. Enroll in the Fall Term of the Scholarship year in a full-time undergraduate or graduate course of study at a post-secondary school, accredited college/university, or a United States Military Academy.

Awards

1. ​The Tom Childs Family Scholarship - $2,000

2. The Schrecongost Family Scholarship - $2,000 (Must have completed their Senior Season of Golf in good standing.)

3. The recipient(s) must enter a post-secondary school no later than the Fall Term of the scholarship year. The scholarship is for one school year of the recipient’s education.

 

Application Procedure

The student must complete and return the following information:

1. Application Form (including all requested signatures).

2. Narrative Resume addressing Academic Achievement, Athletic Participation and Community Service.

3. Official High School transcripts

All information submitted is confidential.

 

Selection Process

1. Selection of the recipient(s) will be based on academic achievement, athletic participation, and community service.

2. Applicants will be evaluated only on the information supplied; therefore, it is important to provide all requested documentation completed as accurately as possible.

3. The scholarship recipient(s) are selected by the Board of Directors of the Hall of Fame.

4. All applicants(s) will be notified of their status by June 15th of the selection year.

5. The successful recipient(s) will be our guest at the Hall of Fame Induction banquet in July where he/she will receive their award.

 

Financial Payment of Award 

The actual financial award will be paid directly to the Bursar’s Office at the college/university where the award recipient(s) will attend.
